After the assassination of the Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani an Iranian MP has offered $3m in cash to “anyone who kills” President Donald Trump.
Robert Wood the US disarmament ambassador called the reward “ridiculous” and told reporters in Geneva that this demonstrates the “terrorist underpinnings” of Iran’s establishment.
Ahmad Hamzeh the Iranian MP offered the bounty to avenge the killing of Soleimani on 3 January by a US drone strike in Iraq.
Hamzeh was quoted by the semi-official ISNA news agency, “We will give three million dollars to anyone who kills Trump.”
It is not known if the $3m bounty has any backing from the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini.
Hamzeh also said, “If we had nuclear weapons today, we would be protected from threats … We should put the production of long-range missiles capable of carrying unconventional warheads on our agenda. This is our natural right.”
