Internet based retail bank, First Direct has announced that customers can make payments whilst chatting on social media apps, without having to log on to their online banking app.

Customers can use, WhatsApp and Facebook messenger using fdpay, to make secure payments up to £350 per day.

This is done by tapping the payment icon on the phones keyboard, without opening the banking app. No bank account details are needed as fdpay uses the UKs Paym service.
