Eurostar to operate from London to Amsterdam by the end of this year

Demand is high

Eurostar is to launch a service from London to Amsterdam by the end of this year, airlines are now in a price war with flights, particularly with EasyJet and BA as Eurostar will be challenging them on prices.

Eurostar is already in a price war as they offer fares from £25, one way to Brussels and Paris.

Nicolas Petrovic chief executive of Eurostar said: “The introduction of the e320 on the Brussels route marks an important milestone in the travel experience for customers.”

“With demand for high-speed rail over plane on the increase we are gearing up to expand our reach to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.”

Managing director of Dutch NS International, Marjon Kaper said: “The preparations for the direct connection between Amsterdam and London with Eurostar and NS are progressing well.”

“All partners are working hard on this. Today is special because the start of services with the new train to Brussels brings the ‘Amsterdam Route’ closer.”
