The chief of easyHotel has said that despite Brexit uncertainty the UK is still a “good place to do business” as the company opens their flagship hotel at Old Street.

easyHotel opened their new 89-room hotel following an extensive renovation, and prices for the no-frills rooms starts at £49.99 per night.

Chief executive Guy Parsons said to the PA, “Our performance is strong but we’re very mindful of what’s taking place in the wider economy and the impact it could have on our business.

“Fundamentally I still think the UK economy is going to be strong, it will still be a good place to do business in.”

On the subject of the impact of Brexit he said both consumers and businesses have slowed on their spending due to the lack of clarity.

He said, “The hotel industry relies on confidence.

“Businesses need certainty and until we know what’s going to happen at the end of October, people are more likely to have a wait and see approach.”
