A few countries have issued a “travel alert” warning their citizens there is an “increased risk of violence” to them if they travel to the UK due to riots and protests in various parts of Britain.

Indonesia, Malaysia and Nigeria have warned their citizens of the risks of travelling to Britain and their nationals who live in the UK to stay clear of demonstrations and protests.

Nigeria’s Ministry of Affairs warned their citizens that the “violence has assumed dangerous proportions” in the UK.

The Ministry which is based in Abuja warned there is “an increased risk of violence and disorder occasioned by the recent riots in the UK.”

They added, “Demonstrations by far right and other extra-parliamentary groups in parts of the UK in recent weeks have been large, and in some instances unruly.”

The Indonesian embassy in London has warned their citizens who are in the UK to stay clear of large gathering and they must increase their vigilance.

The High Commission of Malaysia are “strongly” encouraging their citizens to register with them so that they can “receive timely information and assistance”.

The Indonesian embassy posted a warning online, “Malaysians residing in or travelling to the United Kingdom are urged to stay away from protest areas, remain vigilant and follow the latest updates and guidance provided by local authorities.”

On Sunday the Prime Minister gave a statement from Downing Street warning that those who have taken part in violence during the protests across the country “will face the full force of the law.”

Sir Keir Starmer has claimed that those who are taking place in the disorder or even those who are going online “whipping up this disorder” will also be held to account.

Starmer said that there is “no justification” for the attack on a hotel in Rotherham which is housing asylum seekers.

Starmer added, “There is no justification for taking this action.

“People in this country have a right to be safe and yet we have seen Muslim communities targeted and attacks on mosques.”

A former Metropolitan police detective has warned that he sees the protests and riots “escalating and spreading” to other parts of the UK.

Peter Bleksley warned that should the riots go “beyond the capabilities” of the police this could then lead to the “unfortunate sight” of soldiers being deployed “on the streets of Britain.”
