Britishvolt, the failed project to build a large gigafactory on the Northumbrian coast, is close to being sold.
EY has selected Recharge Industries, the Australian battery company that is backed by Scale Facilitation, a New York-based investment vehicle, as the preferred bidder.
David Collard, founder of Recharge Industries, said: “We’re thrilled to be progressing with our proposed bid for Britishvolt and can’t wait to get started making a reality of our plans to build the UK’s first gigafactory.”
