40 mile Russian military convoy redeploys near Kyiv with heavy artillery stationed in firing positions

New satellite images shows that Vladimir Putin’s military death convoy is closing in on Kyiv and are three miles from the capital with heavy artillery stationed which are in firing positions.

Maxar Technologies satellite imagery shows that an attack on Kyiv is imminent and on Thursday a senior US defence official said the 40 mile convoy was nine miles from the Capital.

The images shows tanks have fanned out and are now in forests and in nearby towns with many also regrouping near Antonov Airport which is north of the capital.

The Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko said the capital “has been transformed into a fortress” and “one in two Kyiv residents has left the city.”

He said, “Every street, every house… is being fortified.

“Even people who in their lives never intended to change their clothes, now they are in uniform with machine guns in their hands.”

The UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) sad it is “highly unlikely” that Russia has successfully achieved its invasion plan however they will likely “re-posture” for a renewed offensive.

“Russian ground forces continue to make limited progress.

“Logistical issues that have hampered the Russian advance persist, as does strong Ukrainian resistance,’ MoD said in an intelligence update.

“Russia is likely seeking to reset and re-posture its forces for renewed offensive activity in the coming days.

“This will probably include operations against the capital Kyiv.”
