The Ukrainian President has revealed the “main issue” surrounding peace talks with the US President Donald Trump.
In an interview with Reuters President Volodymyr Zelensky said that security guarantees for Ukraine are the main issues.
President Trump has suggested that he could hold talks with President Zelensky next week in Washington, the US President then said “well, I’m not going there” to Kyiv.
President Zelensky wants to meet with Trump first before there are any talks held with Moscow, Reuters reported.
Zelensky told Reuters, “It is very important, otherwise it will look like a dialogue about Ukraine without Ukraine.

Kyiv has said that Vladimir Putin breaks promises and has done for ten years, he is taking “no” firm stance on any discussions with Russia.
Zelensky said, “We have absolutely everything for this – we need peace.”
Last month, Putin stated he is refusing to hold peace talks with President Zelensky because he is wrongly branding the Ukrainian leader as “illegitimate” who “has not right to say anything.”
In response Zelensky said, “Putin once again proved that he is afraid of negotiations, afraid of strong leaders, and is doing everything possible to drag out the war. Every step he takes, every cynical manoeuvre, is aimed at making this war endless.”
The Russian despot said on Tuesday, “Negotiations can be held with anyone.
“But due to (Zelensky’s) illegitimacy he has no right to sign anything.
“If (Zelensky) wants to take part in talks, I will delegate people who will conduct such talks. But the (key) issue is the ultimate signing of the documents.”
Ukrainian legal experts have claimed this is nothing more than a poor attempt at Russian propaganda and said Putin’s claims are baseless.
