White House plans to end coronavirus task force

The US President Donald Trump has confirmed the White House are planning to wind down the coronavirus task force, within weeks.

Trump said, “we are bringing our country back,” despite more than 70,000 deaths in the US which is the highest in the world.

Vice President Mike Pence said, that conversation are being held over “what the proper time is for the task force to complete its work and for the ongoing efforts to take place on an agency-by-agency level.”

Pence said, “We’ve already begun to talk about a transition plan with FEMA,” which has lead the role in providing supplies across the country.

The US President acknowledged that human costs to the plans, he told reporters “I’m not saying anything is perfect, and yes, will some people be affected? Yes.

“Will some people be affected badly? Yes.

“But we have to get our country open and we have to get it open soon.”
