Britain’s manufacturing output and industrial production has surprised experts as figures released today show they suffered a sharp drop in January.
In the biggest fall since June, manufacturing output fell by 1.5%.

At the same time, industrial production fell 1.2% month-on-month in January, according to estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
