Morrisons has announced that they are to make thousands of temporary staff permanent as the demand for online deliveries continues.
The supermarket chain which is the fourth largest had around 97,000 workers pre-Covid and hired an extra 45,000 temporary staff during the pandemic.
Out of the 45,000 staff, 25,000 are still working for Morrisons and over 6,000 have been given permanent jobs.
Morrisons are expected to make the announcement on Thursday when they publish their interim results.
A spokesperson said, “Morrisons has been playing its full part in feeding the nation and that has required the largest recruitment drive our company has ever seen.”
