The Home Office is set to lodge an appeal on Thursday against the High Courtโ€™s decision to block the deportation of an Eritrean man to France.

The Home Secretary said she will fight โ€œlast minute claimsโ€ which is blocking the government to send migrants back to France as part of the โ€œone in, one outโ€ deal.

Shabana Mahmood said, โ€œLast-minute attempts to frustrate a removal are intolerable, and I will fight them at every step.

โ€œI will fight to end vexatious, last-minute claims.

โ€œI will robustly defend the British publicโ€™s priorities in any court.

โ€œAnd I will do whatever it takes to secure our border.โ€

Mahmood said that the migrants are making a โ€œmockeryโ€ of the UKโ€™s laws and โ€œgenerosity.โ€
