The Met Office has given us all some good news, temperatures this week will be in double figures and come the weekend the mercury is set to hit 17C.

Milder weather has begun today with highs of up to 13C in England and Wales with “spring like” warmth.

Forecaster Luke Miall said the weather will be a bit “wet and windy” for most of the week.

He added, “We will be hovering between 7°C to 12°C, I suspect, through Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.”

Chief Meteorologist Neil Armstrong said “last week the UK has been in a very cold airmass with temperatures well below average.”

He said that this will change “as milder air moves in from the Atlantic and pushes that cold airmass out into the North Sea.

“Where temperatures were close to freezing in many places last week, we could expect to see 11°C or 12°C.”
