The Arctic blast has bought snow in the UK for the first time in a long while in the Scottish mountains this September.
There is a mass of air hitting the UK from the Arctic and for many across the UK Thursday will feel a lot colder and on Friday many will see the temperature fall to as low as 4C or 5C overnight which will see frost in some remote areas.
Clare Nasir from the Met Office said, “Winds won’t be as blustery across in-land areas, showers particularly along the coastline, they may develop in land, but there will be some drier interludes and a mix of cloud and sunshine yet again, temperatures 14C or 15C in the south.”
She added, “A ridge of high pressure is moving in, so a cold start, with a localised frost, but with that we’ll see some sunshine.
“All change though as we head into the weekend from the northwest.”
