A second migrant has been deported from the UK on Friday back to France as part of the governmentโs โone in, one outโ deal.
Around 6am an Eritrean man was on board a flight back to Paris and was separated from other passengers so he could be processed.
The Eritrean made the Channel crossing last month and he lost his legal challenge to remain in Britain, which comes a day after another person was deported.
The Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said, “This is an important first step to securing our borders. It sends a message to people crossing in small boats: if you enter the UK illegally, we will seek to remove you.
“I will continue to challenge any last-minute, vexatious attempts to frustrate a removal in the courts.
“The UK will always play its part in helping those genuinely fleeing persecution, but this must be done through safe, legal, and managed routes โ not dangerous crossings.”
However, it does not seem to have deterred the illegal migrants as more small boats have left Gravelines beach near Calais on Friday morning.
