The failed Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has claimed that Finland is bolstering their defences close to the Russian border preparing to attack.
Medvedev wrote an opinion piece for Russian state media outlet TASS and expressed his concerns that Finland has joined NATO.
He said that NATO has opened a regional land forces command centre in Mikkeli which is near to the Russian border.
Medvedev has claimed that NATO has been provocative by holding military training exercises close to Russia’s borders.
Medvedev said, “Helsinki is pursuing a confrontational course of preparation for war with Russia, apparently preparing a springboard for an attack on us.”
He said that army units are being created in Lapland “in the immediate vicinity of the Russian border.”
Medvedev’s opinion piece is entitled “Finland’s new doctrine: Stupidity, lies, ingratitude.”
Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said, “Walls and barriers are being built. We need to increase the reliability of the protection of the state border.
He added, “We cannot ignore the fact that Finland is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. And this predetermines a change in our military approaches to the border and repelling possible unfriendly acts.
Russia is now ramping up their military fortifications on the NATO border as Moscow believes Finland is preparing “unfriendly acts.”
