Liz Truss has been backed into 6/4 to win at least 60% of the Conserservative members vote in the leadership contest, having been 15/8 last week, ahead of Tuesday’s hustings in Perth.

Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak is an outsider at 10/1 to replace Boris Johnson in Downing Street, with Truss the clear 1/10 frontrunner.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “With Liz Truss the clear 1/10 favourite to replace Boris Johnson in No.10, odds on her to win at least 60% of the Conservative members vote in the leadership contest have been slashed to 6/4 from 15/8 in the past week. The foreign secretary is also 4/1 to receive over 65% of votes.

“Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak’s chances of beating Truss in the race remain slim, with the former chancellor 10/1 to come out on top.”
