Architecture comes up with futuristic design

Gensler, the design and architecture firm that unveiled the radical idea for a floating UK Parliament, located on the River Thames, has just launched a video showcasing the public’s reaction to the proposal.

The forward-looking design could reduce cost and minimise the disruption of the long overdue refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster.

At the launch of the concept last month, Ian Mulcahey, managing director of Gensler, said: “We just want parliament to seriously consider this as an option.

“We thought, ‘Why not create a temporary parliament on the river and give a sense of continuity for the Government, rather than having one House in a bunker somewhere and another in a courtyard somewhere else?’ People will be able to continue taking selfies in front of Parliament.”
