The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that the Cold War is well and truly over and now Moscow is in a “fiery” conflict with the West.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova was asked if Russia is in a new Cold War with the West.
She said, “I would disagree with the comparison with the Cold War. We are already in another form of conflict.
“There has been no cold here for a long time; there is already fire here.”
Zakharova said that NATO and the West are preparing for “provocations” against Moscow and she denied that Russia has violated alliance airspace.
“All their statements indicate – first, that they are preparing a chain of provocations. Second, that they need to justify their military budgets,” Zakharova said.
