Passengers travelling from Euston on Thursday are facing major delays following a train derailment in the Milton Keynes Central area.

National Rail has said that some lines are closed and train services are being delayed by up to 90 minutes.

Rail services from London Euston to Manchester Piccadilly and Brimingham New Street have been cancelled.

Euston Station wrote on X, โ€œFor safety reasons, all lines between Milton Keynes and Bletchley were temporarily closed and we have worked quickly to reopen two of the four tracks on the West Coast Main Line.

โ€œAlthough some trains are running again, we expect this incident to cause significant disruption to journeys today and we are working to recover the timetables as quickly as possible.

“We are very sorry to passengers whose journeys are affected and urge people to check before they travel at http://nationalrail.co.uk.”
