Investigation into alleged lies in Congress over Trump Tower in Moscow

Buzzfeed has said that two law enforcement sources involved in investigating that Trump allegedly directed his long-term lawyer, Michael Cohen to lie to congress about a Trump Tower in Moscow have given testimony.

Allegedly, the American President, Donald Trump, his daughter Ivanka and his son-in-law Jared Kushner received updates to the development of the Trump Tower in Russia’s capital Moscow however, it is further alleged that they lied about when the development ended.

Trumps lawyer Cohen said to Congress that the plan took place between September 2015 till January 2016 however, the documents forming the criminal complaint say they lasted until June.

Buzzfeed has said Cohen told criminal investigators, that Trump “Personally instructed him to lie” re the negotiation dates ended “in order to obscure Trump’s involvement.”

Intelligence committee of the House of Representatives chairman, Adam Schiff wrote on Tiwtter, “The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date.

Schiff added, “we will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”
