Farage says ‘that would be great’ should Elon Musk donate $100 million for the Reform UK party

2nd Dec 24 3:00 pm

Nigel Farage has said he had โ€œabsolutely no ideaโ€ over the reports that Elon Musk could possibly donate $100 million to the Reform UK leader.

Farage told GB News that the SpaceX owner has not โ€œdiscussed with meโ€ over any donation to the Reform UK party, he acknowledged that the Tesla boos is โ€œvery supportiveโ€ of his future aims.

Farage told the news outlet, “What I do know is that Elon Musk is very supportive of me, what I’m trying to do, and he thinks that if Reform do well in the UK, we can bring about the same kind of change that he intends to do with Donald Trump in America.โ€

On X Musk wrote โ€œyesโ€ to Andrea Jenkins, the former Tory Minister joining Farageโ€™s part and he X owner said that โ€œReform will win the next election.โ€

GB News asked Farage over whether it is legal to accept donations from the American tech billionaire.

Farage said, “I’m not giving you a yes or a no, I don’t know. I suspect this is not true.โ€

He said that only companies registered in the UK can legally donate, but Musk also has a British registered X business.

Farage told GB News, “Legally, companies operating in the UK can give money to UK political parties, but I think we’re a very long way away from that.

Farage added, “Look, if it did happen, well, that would be great.”

Musk spent more than $200 million to fund Donald Trump during the US election campaign and should Farage receive this donation it will be seen as a โ€œf**k you Starmerโ€ payment.

Musk has taken a real dislike to Sir Keir Starmer since he become the Prime Minister and has openly called him โ€œtwo-tier Keirโ€ over the way he is allowing the police to tackle certain groups in the UK.

The SpaceX owner has criticized Starmer over the policing of free speech and the early release of prisoners.

Musk wrote, โ€œI donโ€™t think anyone should go to the UK when theyโ€™re releasing convicted paedophiles in order to imprison people for social media posts.โ€
