Explosions rock Kyiv as Shahed drone attacks injure many

Russia launched a total of 176 Shahed strike drones over Ukraine overnight across 12 regions including the capital of Kyiv.

Overnight the Air Force reported Russian airstrikes struck civilian targets which injured at least a dozen including volunteers.

Building and cars were on fire amid “falling debris” across the capital, including Donetsk and three civilians were injured in Kharkiv region.

Throughout the night we were all woken to the sound of drones and air defence gunners shot down Russian drones lighting up the sky.

There was various air raid alerts throughout the night telling residents to head to their bunkers.

The regional prosecutor’s office wrote, “At 16:05 today, a Russian FPV drone struck the village of Kutkivka in the Kupyansk district. Three men, aged 23, 48 and 50, suffered multiple shrapnel wounds. The injured were taken to hospital,” adding that private homes were also damaged by falling debris.

Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that anti-aircraft batteries were shooting at Russian drones in the north of the capital and debris from one drone shot down fell in Kyiv’s Sviatoshynsky district.
