Beijing has hit out at NATO and has accused the alliance for their “indisputable responsibility” of the Ukraine crisis.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said during a press briefing that China is not providing Russia with weapons.

He said that “more than 60% of the weapons components and dual-use items imported by Russia come from the United States and Western countries.”

Wenbin added, “NATO bears indisputable responsibility for this crisis.

“The alliance should give thought to its role, stop shifting the blame and effectively take practical action for the political settlement of the crisis.”

America’s top diplomat met with the Chinese President Xi Jingping to discuss issues over the bilateral relationship and to talk about China’s support of Russia.

The US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Jingping on Friday to keep their relationship steady.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry statement said, “China and the United States should be partners rather than rivals.”

The Ministry added, that the two sides should “seek common ground and reserve differences, rather than engage in vicious competition.”

Blinken said, “We’re committed to maintaining and strengthening lines of communication,” adding, that this will avoid any “miscalculations.”
