Butlin’s has today revealed that a ‘phishing attack’ had hit the holiday camp firm in the last 72 hours and records of up to 34,000 guest records may have been hacked.

Customer data including names, home addresses, email addresses and phone numbers may be at risk. However, payment details were secure, Butlin’s added.

The firm is now contacting people who may have been affected to inform them and tell them what they should do. The incident has also been reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
