British Airways suspends some flights to the Middle East following US attack on Iran

British Airways has suspended all flights to Qatar, Doha and Dubai following the US President ordering an attack on Iranโ€™s three nuclear facilities overnight.

British Airways said that โ€œrecent eventsโ€ has forced the airline to make the move for passenger and crew safety.

A BA spokesman said, “As a result of recent events, we have adjusted our flight schedule to ensure the safety of our customers and crew, which is always our top priority.

“We are contacting our customers to advise them of their options while we work through this developing situation.”

Qatar, Dubia and Doha are within striking distance of Iran and are situated next to the Strait of Hormuz.

Singapore Airlines has cancelled two flights between Singapore and Dubai on Sunday following a โ€œsecurity assessment of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East.โ€

Israel has closed their airspace and Finnair, United Airlines and American Airlines have also cancelled flights to Dubai and Doha.

Tehran issued a warning on Sunday that โ€œevery American is a targetโ€ and US bases in the Middle East are now at a โ€œpoint of vulnerability.โ€

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned following US bombing of Iranโ€™s three nuclear facilities overnight that that American bases in the Middle East are a โ€œpoint of vulnerability,โ€ Reuters reported.

Tehran has warned that the US is now โ€œat the front line of aggressionโ€ and they reserve โ€œall optionsโ€ on how they will response to the US and Israel.

He added, โ€œThe world must not forget that it was the United States which, in the midst of a process to forge a diplomatic outcome, betrayed diplomacy by supporting the genocidal Israeli regimeโ€™s launch of an illegal war of aggression on the Iranian nation.

โ€œNot content with such malign actions, the United States itself has now also opted for a dangerous military operation and aggression against the people of Iran.โ€
