Almost half of Brits want Russian and Belarusian athletes to be banned from competing at Wimbledon

A survey conducted by Casiniosite.nl of more than 2,000 UK residents found that 48% believed Russian and Belarusian athletes should not compete at SW19.

Males were far less lenient than females, with 54% of men calling for the ban to still be in place, in comparison, 42% of females called for the ban to still be in place.

Those aged between 16-25 were far more lenient, while those aged 55 and over were the most ruthless.

Nearly half of UK citizens believe Wimbledon should still ban Russian and Belarusian athletes from competing in SW19.

Research conducted by CasinoSite.Nl has found that in a survey of more than 2,000 people in the week before Wimbledon started* that 48% of fans wanted the 2022 ban on tennis stars to be upheld.

A staggering 54% of men wanted athletes from Russia and Belarus to still be banned, with the figure dropping down to 42% for women.

When the same question was posed to individuals of different age brackets, it was found that just 29% of 16-24 year olds wanted the ban to be upheld, but this figure shot up to 58% when answered by those aged 55 or over.
