Accenture to cut 19,000 jobs close offices globally to save around £1.2 billion

Consulting firm Accenture will cut 19,000 jobs globally with includes the UK over the next 18 months to save around £1.2 billion.

The cuts represents around 2.5% of their 738,000 worldwide employees and the jobs cuts will mainly affect the corporate support teams.

Accenture employs around 11,000 staff in the UK and the company did not reveal the breakdown of those affected in each country.

The consulting company are planning to save around £1.2 billion and £651 million will be delivered this year and again in 2024.

The group said: “While we continue to hire, especially to support our strategic growth priorities, during the second quarter of fiscal 2023 we initiated actions to streamline our operations and transform our non-billable corporate functions to reduce costs.”
