Welsh hospital overrun with major coronavirus outbreak

The Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, South Wales has been overrun with a major coronavirus outbreak.

The hospital has put in place service restrictions after 82 cases of the virus were confirmed.

The Royal Glamorgan Hospital said that “significant temporary service restrictions,โ€ are now in place, which includes the suspending of planned surgery from 2pm on Wednesday.

A statement from the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board said, “Given the extent of this outbreak, and on advice of Public Health Wales, the Health Board is taking a number of urgent and significant actions to ensure the safety of our staff, patients and communities.”
