A US police officer was shot in the head and died on Las Vegas Boulevard on Monday evening, outside the Circus Hotel and Casino.

According to local reports more shootings took place by the Federal Courthouse, and officer returned fire and shot the suspect.

Demonstrators looted stores in New York, a shopping mall was set fire too in Los Angeles, and protestors violently clashed with police in St Louis Missouri.

St Louis Police said on Twitter, “Officers are still taking gunfire downtown & we will share more info as it available.”

President Trump said, “Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming law enforcement presence until the violence has been quelled.

“If a city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”

This comes as George Floyd died whilst in police custody after a police officer knelt on his neck, and after an autopsy, his death was declared homicide by “mechanical asphyxiation,” or physical force that interfered with his oxygen supply.

The report says three officers contributed to the death of Floyd.
