US evacuate Middle Eastern embassy over Iran’s nuclear threat as Trump warns ‘there will be bombing’

12th Jun 25 4:06 pm

The US are evacuating all non-essential embassy staff in Baghdad, including families from several bases in the Middle East.

Donald Trump set a 60-day deadline to Tehran as the US President has insisted “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon,” he has threatened direct action to Iran’s nuclear programme.

Tehran has warned that any strike on their nuclear programme will spark an immediate response to US bases which at dotted around the Middle East.

The Royal Navy’s Maritime Trade Operations division has issued an alert to all ships moving around the Arabian Gulf, the Straits of Hormuz and Oman to operate with “caution” as there is a real risk of conflict should Trump or Israel bomb Iran.

The tone seems to be moving away from diplomacy and the US President said, “It could be a dangerous place.

“We’ll see what happens.”

Trump insisted, “Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. We won’t allow it.”

Trump warned in April that if no deal was done within 60 days “there will be bombing.”

Iran’s Defence Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh warned on Wednesday when the 60-day deadline lapsed, “If a conflict is imposed on us… all US bases are within our reach, and we will boldly target them in host countries.”

“The safety and security of our service members and their families remains our highest priority,” said a Pentagon spokesperson.

Western officials have warned that Israel is thinking of launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites which could happen within days, with or without US support.
