It has been revealed that two weeks ago an Air India flight from Delhi to Vienna suddenly fell 900ft just after take-off.
This happened a few days after the deadly Air India moments after take-off on 14 June and a full -scale investigation has been launched, The Times of India reported.
Multiple alarms were triggered in the cockpit with warning signs saying โstall alertโ and โdonโt sinkโ causing safety concerns, the Air India flight landed safely in Vienna.
The cockpit alarms warn of a dangerous loss of lift and immediate action is needed to prevent a crash.
The Indian aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) launched an investigation and the pilots have been grounded following an investigation.
Officials said, โThe aircraft was involved in an inflight occurrence of stick shaker and GPWS caution.
โSoon after take-off, stick shaker warning and GPWS donโt sink caution appeared. Stall warning came once and GPWS caution came twice.โ
The official added, โThere was an altitude loss of around 900ft during climb. Subsequently, the crew recovered the aircraft and continued the flight to Vienna.โ
An Air India spokesperson said in a statement, โUpon receipt of the pilotโs report, the matter was disclosed to DGCA in accordance with regulations.
โSubsequently, upon receipt of data from the aircraftโs recorders, further investigation was initiated. The pilots have been off-rostered pending the outcome of the investigation.โ
