The US Presidentโs administration is allegedly planning to deport 240,000 Ukrainians from America by revoking their temporary legal status.
A senior Trump official and three sources who are aware of this matter warned that this could happen as soon as April, Reuters reports.
This means that almost a quarter of a million Ukrainians could be deported using a fast-track system, where they will end up is not known as there are no direct flights to Ukraine.
Reuters reported that this was already in play prior to the shouting match between Trump and the US Vide President JD Vance in the Oval Office on 28 February.
It is believed that this is part of the Trump administration wanting to remove the legal status from more than 1.8 million migrants who are living in the US.
According to an ICE internal email the migrants who lose their parole status will face deportation proceedings.
ICE is the US Immigration and Customer Enforcement who are a federal law enforcement agency that comes under the Department of Homeland Security.
On 20 January Trump signed an executive order for the Department of Homeland Security to โterminate all categorical parole programmes.โ
