Trump could restart military aid and intelligence for Ukraine once peace talks arranged

The White House national security advisor Mike Waltz has suggested that the US President could resume intelligence and military aid to Ukraine once peace talks have been arranged.

On Tuesday the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is willing and โ€œready to workโ€ with the US President for โ€œpeace that lasts.โ€

President Zelensky has called for a โ€œtruce in the skyโ€ and for a ban on missiles bombing Ukrainian energy and infrastructure.

He said that it is time to make things right after the clash in the Oval Office last week.

Waltz called President Zelenskyโ€™s statement a “good, positive first step,โ€ and President Trump showed his appreciation over it also.

Reuters reported, Waltz said on the Fox & Friends program, “I think if we can nail down these negotiations and move towards these negotiations, and in fact, put some confidence-building measures on the table, then the president will take a hard look at lifting this pause.โ€

On Wednesday the CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed to Fox Business that the US has stopped all sharing of US intelligence with Ukraine, to push Kyiv into submission and start peace talks.

Ratcliffe said, โ€œTrump had a real question about whether President (Volodymyr) Zelensky was committed to the peace process, and he said letโ€™s pause.โ€

โ€œI think on the military front and the intelligence front, the pause that allowed that to happen, I think will go away,โ€ Ratcliffe added.
