Political commentator Peter Barnes has slammed the Chancellor Rachel Reeves over her Budget and said she “looks rather like a reindeer in the headlights.”
Speaking on GB News, Barnes said, “We knew as soon as they said it would be a budget for growth that it was going to lead to no growth.โ
“The first question we should be asking is, when should we be expecting resignations?” he added.
He warned that major businesses have been warning the outlook of the economy looks desperate as the Office for National Statistics there was no GDP growth between July and September prior to the Autumn Budget.
Economist had estimated there would be 0.1% growth in the quarter and for October, November and December the Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey is expecting no growth at all.

According to the CBI on Monday the private sector firms expect activity to fall in the three months to March (weighted balance of -24%), according to the CBIโs latest Growth Indicator. Expectations are now at their weakest in over two years.
Andrew Griffith, conservative business spokesman blasted that the Chancellor has created โa hostile climate for aspiration, for investment, and for growth.โ
He said, โThe Chancellorโs tax-raising spree and trash-talking her economic inheritance is literally killing businesses and jobs.
โIf there is a recession โ and based on these CBI expectations that seems increasingly likely โ it will be one made in Downing Street. Labour need to urgently change course before the damage they are doing becomes even greater.โ
Alpesh Paleja, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) interim deputy chief economist said, โThere is little festive cheer in our latest surveys, which suggest that the economy is headed for the worst of all worlds โ firms expect to reduce both output and hiring, and price growth expectations are getting firmer.โ
