A stonking 99.75% of Royal Mail staff have accepted free shares ahead of the privatisation on Friday.
Each employee’s allocated shares are expected to be worth about £2,000. Directors can apply for an additional £500,000 of extra shares.
Only 368 Royal Mail staff, out of the total of around 150,000, chose not to take up the free shares, according to the BBC.
We’re not entirely sure why – you’ll have to ask them yourselves. Maybe they just don’t like free lavish lunches.
The share price is likely to be between 300p to 330p a share when Royal Mail lists on the London Stock Exchange on Friday.
