More than 200 Israeli warplanes attack 100 targets in Iran killing top generals and nuclear scientists

Israeli warplanes have attacked Iranโ€™s nuclear facilities killing top nuclear scientists and three top general from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israeli military said that over 200 warplanes hit 100 targets across Iran in a โ€œpre-emptiveโ€ strike in the early hours on Friday, in retaliation Tehran launched 100 drones which were โ€œintercepted successfully.โ€

An IDF spokesperson said more than โ€œ330 various munitionsโ€ was used in the airstrikes.

The head of Iranโ€™s atomic agency told state media that Israels attack completely destroyed the Natanz nuclear facility, the site was used for uranium enrichment.

On Friday Iranโ€™s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned Israel they are facing a โ€œsevere punishment.โ€

The Ayatollah said Israel has โ€œopened its wicked and blood-stained hand to a crime in our beloved country, revealing its malicious nature more than ever by striking residential centers.โ€

The International Atomic Energy Agency said they are โ€œclosely monitoring the deeply concerning situation in Iran.โ€

The British Foreign Secretary David Lammy wrote on X, “Stability in the Middle East is vital for global security.

“I’m concerned to see reports of strikes overnight. Further escalation is a serious threat to peace & stability in the region and in no one’s interest.

“This is a dangerous moment & I urge all parties to show restraint.”

Sir Keir Starmer is urging โ€œall parties to step back and reduce tensions urgently,โ€ adding, “now is the time for restraint, calm and a return to diplomacy.โ€
