Reckitt Benckiser (RB) who make Dettol and Cillit Bang have cleaned up as sales soared to £6.9bn in the first six months of the year due to coronavirus.
In the run up and throughout the pandemic sales were up by 12% to £6.9bn, and the hygiene sector saw sales rise by 16%.
RB saw online sales hit 60% and the company are to invest £100m over two years as a result, as demand continues to outpace supply.
In the three months to the end of June, like-for-like sales were up by 10.5% beating expected analyst estimates of 7.8%.
Chief executive Laxman Narasimhan told investors, “Our largest brands are trusted by our consumers, as evident in their performance.
“Our supply chain has withstood the challenge of unprecedented demand, demonstrating agility and flexibility, albeit with additional costs and investments.
“Our Hygiene and base Health businesses have both performed well, with strong volume growth in challenging circumstances.”
