The US President’s patience has all but run out with the Kremlin and they have less than nine days to reach a peace deal with Ukraine or Vladimir Putin will face secondary sanctions.
Donald Trump has been serious in ending Putin’s war in Ukraine and the US President “should be taken seriously.”
The US State spokesperson Tammy Bruce told Kyiv Post’s correspondent, “Clearly, President Trump has proven that he should be taken seriously, because he’s a serious man, and we’ve seen the results of that around the world.”
During a trip to Scotland President Trump met with Sir Keir Starmer and other officials negotiating trade deals.

He told reporters that Russia will be slapped with secondary sanction and tariffs within “10 or 12 days” should Putin fail to make efforts for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Speaking on Air Force One on Tuesday Trump warned Putin again, “ten days from today” is the deadline, the Kremlin has until Friday, 8 August to secure a peace or ceasefire agreement with Ukraine.
The Kremlin previously said that they have “taken note” of the 8 August deadline and Russian officials branded it as “unacceptable.”
The US State spokesperson warned there is plans for economic measures which are being considered, she said, “What’s been discussed regularly are sanctions, and the president also brought up the issue of sanctions, and even secondary sanctions, as certain countries are benefiting from buying Russian oil.”
On Monday President Trump said that he is furious with Putin, speaking at his Scottish golfer resort in Turnberry, the Russian leaders constant drones and missiles attacks has left “bodies lying all over the street” across Ukraine.
The US President said, “We thought we had that settled numerous times, and then President Putin goes out and starts launching rockets into some city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home or whatever.
“You have bodies lying all over the street, and I say that’s not the way to do it. So we’ll see what happens with that.
“We’re going to have to look and I’m going to reduce that 50 days that I gave him to a lesser number, because I think I already know the answer, what’s going to happen.
“I’m going to make a new deadline of about 10 — 10 or 12 days from today,” Trump added, “There’s no reason they’re waiting.
“I want to be generous, but we just don’t see any progress being made.”
Trump expressed his frustrations saying, “Russia and Ukraine — I would have said five times we had a deal. I spoke to President Putin a lot. Got along with him very well.
“Then President Putin launches rockets into a city like Kyiv and kills a lot of people in a nursing home, or wherever and there are bodies lying all over the street.”
