Intelligence chief warns Putin will spend $1 trillion for an ‘upcoming large-scale war’

The Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov has warned that Vladimir Putin will spend $1 trillion over the next 11-years for the “upcoming large-scale war.”

The Kremlin is mobilising all sectors of Russian society for further military buildup and two new military districts has been created.

Budanov said, “There is a total mobilisation of politics, economy, and society of the Russian Federation to be ready for the upcoming large-scale war.”

The Kremlin is preparing for additional military units and divisions and their aim it to reshape the global order, not just regional domination, the Kyiv Independent reported.

Budanov added, “Russia seeks to disrupt the current security and economic order.

“For this purpose, Moscow is building up its presence in Africa, primarily using its proxy forces.”

He continued, “Moscow’s goal is to impose on countries its own vision of the future world order, where ‘big’ states, primarily the Russian Federation, have full power, a monopoly on all critical resources and decide the fate of the world in a closed circle.”

The Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is prepared to ramp up their war efforts to levels not seen since World War Two as “millions” of Russian civilians are supporting the military.

Russia has the ability to easily call up 5 million trained reservists and could push this number to 20 million.

In April Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi has warned that Russia have has the capacity to easily mobilise 5 million trained troops.

Syrskyi said in an interview with the LB.UA media outlet that Russia has the overall ability to mobilise as many as 20 million troops.

He said that Russia has increased their forces in Ukraine “fivefold since the beginning” of the war and that Vladimir Putin has deployed 623,000 troops inside Ukraine, the Kyiv Independent reported.

Syrskyi said, “Every month, they [Russia] increase it by 8,000-9,000; in a year, it’s 120,000-130,000.”

He added that Ukraine must mobilise 30,000 soldiers monthly to combat Putin’s forces in Ukraine.

Putin ordered a spring conscription of 160,000 men which is the largest in 14-years, despite the ongoing US efforts to agree ceasefire deal.

The Ukrainian commander-in-chief said, “[Russia] used about 40,000 or more rounds every day. After our strikes, the figure changed dramatically and is oscillating around 23,000; now, it has slightly increased, to 27,000-28,000.”

Syrskyi said that the Russian new spring offensive in northeastern Ukraine “has actually already begun.”

He added, “I can say that the president is absolutely right, and this offensive has effectively already begun.”
