The Prime Minister is planning to set up โreturn hubsโ despite scrapping the Rwanda scheme in another attempt to crackdown on illegal immigration.
Sir Keir Starmer said these hubs will process those who have failed all the appeals and will be sent back to their countries to prevent the โvile tradeโ in the English Channel crossings.
The Prime Minister said, “Now what we want to do, and are having discussions and talks of, is return hubs. These would be used when someone has been through the system in the UK and needs to be returned.
“We have to make sure those returns are carried out effectively, and weโll do that, if possible, through return hubs.

“Thatโs what the talks are focused on. I would say that in this area, no single measure is going to be, if you like, a silver bullet.
“But by putting it all together: arrests, seizures, agreements with other countries, returning people who shouldnโt be here, and establishing return hubs through these talks, we can strengthen our approach.
“It will allow us to bear down on this vile trade and help stop people from crossing the Channel.”
During Prime Ministerโs Questions (PMQs) on Wednesday the Reform UK leader Nigel Farage ripped into Sir Keir Starmer over his immigration plan and has strongly urged him to declare a โnational security emergency.โ
This comes as over the weekend an illegal immigrant from Iran who Reform โbelieveโ came by boat crossing the English Channel was arrested on โserious charges of terrorism.โ
Hundreds and thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing the English Channel weekly and since Monday when Starmer announced his immigration plan almost 1,000 have made the crossing in small boats.
Farage pointed out to MPs in the House of Commons that the recent arrests of Iranians for suspected preparation for a terrorism act highlights just how serious the problem is here in the UK.
Farage told Starmer, โCan I encourage you please to go further, as a matter of national security. Over the weekend an illegal immigrant from Iran who we believe came by boat, was arrested in the north of England on serious charges of terrorism.
โSince the speech on Monday, 1,000 undocumented young males have crossed the English Channel. Does the Prime Minister agree now is the time to declare the situation in the English Channel as a national security emergency?โ
The Prime Minister said, โThe situation is serious. The last government lost control of the borders.โ
