Donald Trump rival Joe Biden has giving the US President a run for his money ahead of the US elections.
But did you know the former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate is a millionaire?
Just how rich is Biden? Take a look:
When elected Vice President and ex-US President Barack Obama’s number two, Biden earned $230,000 a year. When Biden released his financial disclosures in July of 2019, they showed that he and his wife Jill had earned more than $15 million in 2017 and 2018.
Book deal and speaking engagements
A multi-book deal with Flatiron Books has helped the Bidens pocked a whopping $8 million, according to Publishers Weekly.
Biden and his wife have also made money through speaking engagements. The AP reports that Biden’s basic speaking fee was $100,000, but it ranged from $40,000 to $190,000.
Biden also earned $540,000 as a professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
According to Forbes, the Bidens’ two homes in Delaware are worth a combined $4 million. Forbes also said they have “cash and investments worth another $4 million or so” as well as a $1 million federal pension.
