Cook My Grub are the UK’s leading marketplace for home-cooked food, announces the availability of its convenient chilled ready-meals option, delivered to doors nationwide.
The marketplace, which launched in 2020, was previously operational in major towns across West London, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire, and allows consumers access to over 300 chefs preparing healthy and wholesome meals to busy people for home delivery.
Having successfully delivered over 10,000 orders to local customers to eat that day, meals prepared by their home chefs are now available chilled, for ordering nationwide. The average cost of a curry meal with rice is £7, making it an affordable convenience option.
The food is delivered in cooler boxes and is precooked. Once received, the customer simply reheats the food as instructed and dinner is ready. All dishes have a two day shelf life and are suitable for home freezing. The containers used are reusable and dishwasher safe.
All Cook My Grub chefs have registered their businesses and conducted hygiene and allergy checks. Cook My Grub allows home chefs to build their profiles, hone their cooking skills and earn money from home preparing healthy meals for grateful patrons. Every chef is trained in allergy awareness and Food Hygiene Level 2.
The founders Dinesh Patil and Shabbir Mookhtiar say: “We couldn’t be more excited about expanding our food business across the country and continuing in our nationwide mission – to introduce people to exciting world cuisines, and help chefs build a business on our platform.”
He continued “As the leading food delivery marketplace for home cooked food, we are following the framework defined by the Food Standard Authority to help systemise a previously unorganised industry and put an end to food exchanging hands without regulations on Whatsapp, Facebook or NextDoor.”
Most chefs receive a 5 star hygiene rating, which is higher than most takeaway companies.
The company was conceived in January 2020 by two serial entrepreneur friends, Shabbir Mookhtiar and Dinesh Patil, who had seen a gap in the market for authentic and healthy home cooked food from around the world, that could easily be delivered to people’s homes through a mobile app.
Offering food by chefs cooking from their home kitchens has not only provided delicious meals from a wide array of world cuisines, not readily available on the high street, but has helped aspiring home chefs to build a brand on the platform, in a similar way to crafters who sell on Etsy or Not On The High Street. Chefs earn as much as £25,000 a year through the platform, many who have never worked as chefs previously.
