The founders Dinesh Patil and Shabbir Mookhtiar say: โWe couldnโt be more excited about expanding our food business across the country and continuing in our nationwide mission – to introduce people to exciting world cuisines, and help chefs build a business on our platform.โ
He continued โAs the leading food delivery marketplace for home cooked food, we are following the framework defined by the Food Standard Authority to help systemise a previously unorganised industry and put an end to food exchanging hands without regulations on Whatsapp, Facebook or NextDoor.โ
Most chefs receive a 5 star hygiene rating, which is higher than most takeaway companies.
The company was conceived in January 2020 by two serial entrepreneur friends, Shabbir Mookhtiar and Dinesh Patil, who had seen a gap in the market for authentic and healthy home cooked food from around the world, that could easily be delivered to peopleโs homes through a mobile app.
Offering food by chefs cooking from their home kitchens has not only provided delicious meals from a wide array of world cuisines, not readily available on the high street, but has helped aspiring home chefs to build a brand on the platform, in a similar way to crafters who sell on Etsy or Not On The High Street. Chefs earn as much as ยฃ25,000 a year through the platform, many who have never worked as chefs previously.
