Eurostar has suspended services between London and Paris after an unexploded World War II bomb has been found on the tracks.

Thousands of passengers have been affected amid the disruption on Friday morning after the bomb was found close to Paris.

French transport minister Philippe Tabarot told broadcaster Sud Radio services will be โ€œstrongly disruptedโ€ throughout Friday.

Eurostar told passengers โ€œan object on the tracksโ€ has been found and there will be disruptions and they have been advised to โ€œchange your journey for a different date of travel.โ€

Franceโ€™s national train operator SNCF said in a statement that following the request of the police services at Gare du Nord will be suspended until mid-morning.

They added, โ€œWe invite travellers to postpone their trip.โ€

The cancellations of train services come at a bad time for many of the passengers as people are heading to Paris for fashion week as well as many heading for a weekend break.
