The British Prime Minister, the US President and the Australian Prime Minister have met in San Diego and they have announced the next phase of the AUKUS pact to create new nuclear powered submarines.

China has hit out at the three countries warning that they have “gone further down a dangerous road.”

The three nuclear submarines will have their nuclear reactors sealed shut and they will carry conventional weapons.

The three nations also insist that the AUKUS pact does not increase the risk of nuclear proliferation.

Reuters reported, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said they have all “disregarded” the concerns of the international community.

The British Prime Minister said, “For the first time ever, it will mean three fleets of submarines working together across both the Atlantic and Pacific, keeping our oceans free, open, and prosperous for decades to come.”

The US President Joe Biden said they could ask for “no better partners” than the UK and Australia to ensure the Pacific will be secure.
