Butlin’s the holiday camp operator has warned that 1,000 furloughed staff that their jobs could be at risk from next month when the wage subsidy scheme ends in October.
Butlin’s is currently operating at 50% capacity and as we heading into winter, revenues significantly drop.
A document seen by the BBC suggests that staff either take paid holiday whether or not if they have remaining paid or unpaid leave.
Butlin’s said, “Since we reopened Butlin’s we’ve worked hard to bring back as many of our team as possible whilst ensuring we’re safe and secure.
“There has been no decision made regarding our team who are still furloughed.”
