A Belgian F-16 fighter jet has crashed in Northwest France with one pilot left dangling from a 250,000-volt electricity line after he ejected.
The second pilot safely landed near by and the second pilot was retrieved safely from the electricity line after two hours.
Gen Maj Vansina said, “They needed time to free him. They had to cut the electric current, but I’ve been on the phone to him and he says he feels fine.”
The F-16 was travelling from Belgium to a naval base in France when it crashed near the towns of Pluvigner and Landaul, in Brittany.
A national police spokeswoman said no injuries were reported and around 100 police were at the crash site.
