Toyota recalls potentially dangerous Prius


Thousands of potentially dangerous Toyota Prius cars could be still on the road, after the manufacturer recalled 1.9m of the hybrid vehicles.

Toyota announced 31,000 Prius cars in the UK needed to be recalled after a problem that could cause the vehicle to come to a sudden stop was discovered.

The fault in the computer system affects Prius models manufactured between March 2009 and February 2014.

Toyota said there had been 11 incidents in Europe of the problem but no accidents or injuries.
