Although it may feel like it sometimes, London is not the world’s most expensive city. In fact, it fails to even make the top 10.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s worldwide cost of living survey found Singapore was the world’s most expensive city, due to currency appreciation and price rises.
London was in at number 15, moving up the list from 16 last year.

However, the survey was based on the cost of an expatriate being sent overseas to work, so while Singapore’s cars and utilities are expensive, street food and public transport is cheaper than many other cities.
