Long takes post at Royal Mail
Royal Mail has named co-chief executive of travel company TUI, Peter Long, as its new chairman, replacing outgoing chairman Donald Brydon.
Brydon announced he was stepping down earlier this year, after six years at Royal Mail.
Long’s appointment comes as the recently privatised Royal Mail faces growing competition from rival delivery companies.
Royal Mail chief executive Moya Greene said: “Long brings with him a proven track record in transforming the fortunes of large and complex companies and I look forward to working with him. Donald Brydon has led our board through a period of tremendous change at Royal Mail and we are all most grateful for his wisdom and counsel during this key time for our company.”
